Intel combined it with the CPU temperature detection of the motherboard and applied it to precise control of the speed of the heat sink fan, achieving good results.

According to different CPU temperatures, temperature controlled fans will have different speed adjustments corresponding to them, and the speed changes of the fans can reach four levels, five levels, or even more, which is basically a feeling of infinitely variable speed. Due to the real-time adjustment of pulse width signals, the changes in fan speed are very sensitive, and the changes in speed and CPU temperature are almost synchronous. Secondly, the PWM fan can maintain a very low speed when the computer is in standby mode. When in standby, the CPU temperature is below 40 to 50 degrees Celsius, and its speed is only about 1000 revolutions, greatly reducing the noise during operation. The designed maximum speed, over 2000 revolutions, only occurs when the CPU temperature is close to the limit temperature, which is 65-67 degrees Celsius. Compared to traditional temperature controlled fans, they have a larger speed control range and better solve the problems of noise and performance.
