How to choose a cooling fan?

First, let's differentiate from the bearings. Oiled bearings are less expensive and have less rotating sound. Teflon is added inside the bearing, so that the cooling fan also has the reliability of ball bearings, and then sold at a high price.

The advantage of a large fan is that the fan blade is long and the cooling area is large, so the air volume is large. However, if not designed properly, the cooling capacity of large fans may not be as good as small fans.

Finally, look at the cooling fan blades. If the rest of the same fan stays the same, only the blades change from five blades to seven blades, the change in airflow may not increase much. However, in terms of fan speed, the seven-blade will be lower than the five-blade (same air change).

In contrast, with a seven-blade fan, there will be less bearing wear and oil leakage, and the fan will last Longer.

If you start with the design aspect, it is best to add a small number of rotating slots at the entrance and exit of the airflow to assist the airflow. Some fan designs do not have an ideal radial shape.
