According to the classification of bearings, cooling fans are mainly divided into oil-bearing and double-ball bearing. But it seems that oil-bearing cooling fans are more prone to noise. Why?
The material of oil-bearing is poor, the process is rough, and the precision is poor. This is the reason why it is easy to produce noise when using oil-bearing cooling fan for a long time. At the beginning, the sound is very good because there is lubricating grease between the bearing and the shaft core, which slows down the direct friction between the shaft core and the bearing. But as time goes on, the lubricating oil will be dried up. Without it, the noise will become louder and louder.
The precision of the double-ball bearing is very high, and it is made of steel. What kind of sound is it from the beginning, and it will still be the same after a year or two. This is also the reason why the products that have been used for a long time and have high noise requirements only use double-ball bearing fans instead of oil-bearing cooling fans.
